Errors on example maps[rediger kildetekst]

Bruger:EileenSanda: Great work on porting the template. It looks as though the problem lies with the template 'Coord', which is meant to supply the latitude and longitude of the centre of the map, and is also used for locating any dots and features. One option would be to try and discover from the Danish implementation of Skabelon:coord why it is not working, and get a fix that way. However, the OSM Location Map template supports an alternative, so it is possible to avoid the coord and use the parameters:

lat=
lon=
mark-lat=
mark-lon=
mark-lat1=
mark-lon1=

and so on.

I notice that one of the examples in the doc page still has this earlier usage, and so is already working. It would be comparatively simple to go through the doc and change to this usage, both for the examples, and for the instructions on how to use, if that felt like the way forward. (It will make it slightly harder to re-use maps from wikis that prefer to use coord, but only a bit.)

It may be that changing some of the examples to Danish locations would increase the chance of this template being used, and including Danish map labels - which I wouldn't know how to do easily, let alone translate the whole documentation article, or enable people to discover it.

You may also be interested in another mapping option on en:wikipedia - a template called Maplink, which can now show a map in a frame as well as full-screen, very similar to this but with some advantages (ability to automate some of the coordinate and wikidata items, and display boundary lines etc) and some drawbacks (can't add text, shapes or mini-locator maps). It uses lua modules, so I have no idea how it works or how hard it is to port across. RobinLeicester (diskussion) 2. jun 2018, 02:12 (CEST)
